- diploma programme | The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum, which comprises the final two years of secondary school (grades 11+12, ages 16-19).
- curriculum | IB Diploma Programme students study six courses selected from 5 subject groups, thus ensuring breadth of experience in languages, social studies, the sciences and mathematics. Three subjects are studied at higher level (courses representing 240 teaching hours); the remaining three subjects are studied at standard level (courses representing 150 teaching hours).
- core requirements | Three core requirements challenge students to apply their knowledge, to prepare for academic studies, and to broaden their understanding of life. All three parts of the core are compulsory and central to the philosophy of the Diploma Programme.
- assessment | The grading system is criterion based, which means that results are determined by individual performance against set standards. Validity, reliability and fairness are the watchwords of the Diploma Programme’s assessment strategy.
- recognition | The IB Diploma is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. In many countries, students with an IB diploma are accepted on the basis of their IB results without any additional entry requirements.
- admission | The Diploma Programme is a logical step for students who want to continue their education after completing the IB Middle Years Programme. However, the Diploma Programme is open to all students who have completed their education up to and including grade 10 level (age 15-16), regardless of the curriculum they have followed.
- extra curricular activities | During the year, the school organizes several voluntary after school clubs. These after school clubs take place once a week, directly after a school day, and usually last 45 minutes.

- Parent Association | The Parents’ Association (PA) is a volunteer-driven organization acting as an intermediary between ISSH parents and the ISSH school and board. The organization is directed by an executive committee composed of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and class parent coordinator.
