Diploma Programme curriculum

IB Diploma Programme students study six courses selected from 5 subject groups, thus ensuring breadth of experience in languages, social studies, the sciences and mathematics. Three subjects are studied at higher level (courses representing 240 teaching hours); the remaining three subjects are studied at standard level (courses representing 150 teaching hours).

At ISSH the following subjects are currently on offer:

Group 1: Language A (best language

Group 2:  Language B (second language)

Group 3: Individuals and Societies

• Geography
• History

Group 4: Experimental Sciences

• Chemistry
• Biology
• Physics

Group 5: Mathematics and Computer Sciences

• Mathematics

Students choose one subject from each of the five groups and an additional subject from any group 1-5.
