Community Moments, June 2025: Relive the Inspiring Moments from this Month!

A Month Packed with Energy, Farewells, Adventures, and Inspiration

The last month at ISSH has been bursting with excitement, connection, and memorable experiences. From spirited competitions to heartfelt goodbyes, and inspiring career explorations to adventurous residential trips, our community has come together in countless meaningful ways. Here’s a look back at some of the standout moments that have brought us closer and made this season truly special.

Sports Day: Building Skills, Teamwork, and Resilience Across All Ages

Sports Day gave students a valuable chance to practice teamwork, resilience, and physical skills in a fun, age-appropriate environment.

ELC 3 & Primary: On the school grounds, children worked on motor skills, coordination, and cooperation through races, games, and gentle yoga. The day ended with shared ice cream, celebrating teamwork and social connection.

Secondary: At the Munot sports ground, students began by competing individually in athletic events before joining forces in team challenges such as relays and tug of war. Through these cross-grade team efforts, they earned house points and strengthened collaboration. Teachers joined the fun, competing alongside students. Ice cream breaks helped maintain energy throughout the day, which concluded with an award ceremony celebrating both individual and team accomplishments. This experience nurtured endurance, discipline, and sportsmanship – valuable qualities that apply far beyond the sports arena.

A big thank you to the Parents’ Association for their generous support throughout the event.

Farewells: Celebrating Endings and New Beginnings

Recently, our school community gathered to mark the close of another school year with heartfelt farewells and joyful celebrations.

The annual ELC Farewell Picnic united families, teachers, and children to celebrate the close of the school year. We bid farewell to our departing children through heartfelt speeches and special moments acknowledging their individual journeys. This year, the ELC groups presented small performances, creating many memorable photo opportunities. A sincere thank you to the parents who generously contributed to the buffet, enhancing the celebration for everyone. For more details and to view photos from the event, please click here.

After pick-up time, Primary families were warmly invited to stay a little longer for the Parents’ Association (PA) cake and coffee event. This relaxed gathering provided a welcoming space to enjoy delicious treats, catch up, and share memories as the school year drew to a close.

Primary Residential Trips: Adventures that Inspire Growth and Learning

This June, our primary students embarked on overnight trips that combined exploration, hands-on learning, and personal growth. From the Swiss Alps to a working farm in Schaffhausen, these experiences went beyond the classroom.

In the mountains, students tackled hiking, high ropes, archery, and fire-making, building resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. They also learned practical skills like filtering water, map reading, and baking bread over an open fire.

At the farm, younger students engaged in milking cows, making butter, caring for animals, and helping with meals. Traditional games and farm chores encouraged cooperation and brought learning to life.

These trips offered exciting adventures while reinforcing lessons, building confidence, and strengthening bonds with peers and the world around them.

Career Day: Igniting Ambition and Unlocking Future Pathways

Career Day was a powerful source of inspiration, encouraging students to dream big and explore a world of possibilities. The day began with a motivating keynote, urging students to take charge of their futures and embrace self-discovery.

Through hands-on activities and dynamic workshops, students explored careers from journalism and law to robotics and hospitality, broadening their horizons and sparking curiosity. A teacher panel and mini-stations offered opportunities for meaningful conversations and deeper insights.

The event ended with personal reflections on the vibrant Career Wall, capturing students’ passion and determination. A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers and workshop leaders from our staff, parent community, and the external companies who generously shared their time and expertise to make this day so impactful.

This incredible month reminds us how vibrant and connected our ISSH community truly is. Here’s to many more moments like these, full of learning, growth, and joy!
