The Primary and Secondary departments each have their own Student Council that meet every week and plan events and activities for the studentbody. Currently, the Primary Council arebusy organising their Art Sale which will take placeon Wednesday 7th April. Our Grade 5Student Council members were interviewed to providemore information about this event.

What is the Student Council?
We meet every week to talk about what people in our class have asked us to get for them.Sometimes we are really busy, like now when we are getting everything ready for the Art Sale.

Why did you decide to plan an Art sale?
We had a big chart with different ideas about whatwe could do to raise some money. We alsohad a bake sale, a yard sale and make your own bookas ideas, but we chose the one that wasbest for the time.

Why did you decide to plan a fundraising event?
We made a chart of what people wanted us to do fromwhen we asked them in class. Lots ofpeople said that they wanted a better playground sowe thought it would be good to have morethings that people could use. We wanted to do something to get more things so we thought about how we could raise the money.

Can you tell us more about the Art Sale?
We have made some posters and all the art is onlinefor you to look at. Every person in Primaryhas made a picture. On Wednesday we are going to havethe sale where you can come and bidon the pictures and the person with the most winsthe piece of art.Have you already decided what you are going to buy?We have found a big kit that has lots of differentthings that we can use outside and everyonewill be able to use it.
