Promotion of strengths and talents through additional lessons

Extension programmes are designed for students in grades 6 to 10, in order to maximize the academic success of strong students and prepare them for the IB Diploma Programme (DP) higher level courses.

Additional lessons

Grade 6 to 8 Extension Programmes

A Mathematics Extension Programme is offered to grade 6-8, in addition to the regular maths program. Admission to these courses depends on the individual student’s previous achievement level. Only students with results between “very good” and “good” are admitted.

Grade 9 and 10 Extension Programme

The Extension Programme for grades 9 and 10 offers students two subject specialisation courses of four lessons a week – one in Mathematics & Sciences and one in Language (French). Students need to qualify for the subject specialisation courses through strong academic performance in the previous reporting period. They are only admitted if they have shown consistent results between “very good” and “good” in the chosen subject area. The Maths / Science Extension programme is in addition to the regular Science and Maths courses.
